        la insensibilidad y frialdad en el estilo de interacción de los
        psicópatas, no suelen generar el cuidado o la simpatía de los
        profesionales. A medida que la investigación se centra más en
        los déficits específicos que se sitúan en el corazón de la psico-
        patía, se hace evidente que al menos algunos comportamientos
        y rasgos tienden a ser resultados directos de los impedimen-
        tos en algunos de los procesos cognitivos más fundamentales.
        Tendríamos que considerar que la psicopatía no conserve su
        estigma de “intratable”. En combinación con un conocimiento
        cada vez mayor sobre los signos evolutivos de la psicopatía, los
        pequeños aumentos en la comprensión de los procesos neuro-
        lógicos y los déficits conductuales específicos que caracterizan
        esta condición podrían tener beneficios significativos para el
        tratamiento y la prevención de la psicopatía en adultos.
